The Smart BRO Prepaid is the newest internet technology service provided by Smart Telecom. The technology makes use of a small plug and play USB modem. The kit includes USB modem (of course), a Smartbro SIM card, 2 sets of USB cables and an installer CD for MAC. If your using Windows OS, the installer comes with the modem itself. Once you conect the USB modem for the first time an installation window pops-up and all you have to do is to follow the instructions on your screen.

Well, the kit is a bit pricey at 4,500Php but it's preloaded with 30Php which is equivalent to an hour and 30 minutes of net surfing. It may appear pricey but of course, the fact that the Smartbro's Prepaid USB modem is light, thin and small. Plus the fact that you can take and use it anywhere (as long as there is a computer), I guess the price is right if you're after internet mobility.

I had my first time experience of driving a car today. Things happened so fast. It was so fast that I didn't even notice what was the brand of the car I used all throughout the actual driving. Well, it only means one thing-I really enjoyed it!

I was afraid at first but I was so excited. It's a bit challenging that I had my first experience of driving while it was raining cats and dogs in Quezon City area. Thank all the gods in human existence that I have a patient and encouraging instructor. It was fun driving although I've been honked horns several times for driving too slow.hehehe..

I'm finally learning how to drive

Learning how to drive is among the long list of goals that I've set to achieve this year. Finally, I'm learning how to drive! Last friday, I enrolled at A1 (SM The Block) for my driving lessons and with their assistance I now have my student permit from the LTO (East Avenue).

I know that this will be a huge challenge on my part. I am physically challenged/handicapped. I was born with a congenital short left arm. Well, that's the reason why my parents didn't want me to drive way back. Well, for some people I maybe incapable of doing things that normal people do but I want to prove them wrong. I'm not limiting my capabilities. I can also learn how to drive.

Someone has sent me an e-mail. At first I thought it was something real because the letter even mentioned the site http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com where I often participate in its forum. As usual, I googled it to make sure if it's real or just another scam e-mail. I found out that this is a scam mail.. so if you receive a mail like this, just ignore it!

My optimism was tested today. Well, it was a another typical morning for me. I arrived at my store at around 10:00AM. I was suppose to do my inventory when suddenly I realized that I just formatted my notebook and It doesn't have Microsoft office installed in it yet. I just decided to listen to a good business audio book by Jim Collins entitled "Built to Last." While I was enjoying listening to the audio book, a customer returned and complaining about a SIM card he just bought earlier. Well, in times like this, I tend to make poor decisions. The ending-I replaced the SIM card that he bought. At around 1:00PM, another customer returned complaining about the the load credits she had earlier. Well, based on the records and the text confirmation from the service provider, she received the exact load amount she paid for but she was complaining that she just received half of it. Since I came late (at 10:00AM) and my saleslady was the one who handled the transaction. I sent her (to he customer) the load she claims that she didn't recieve. For the second time, I made a wrong decision.

Well, I'm known for being the nice guy amongst my friends and even my former colleagues and students. I admit that I'm the type of person who does things that I know would please people around me. I'm very cautious with whatsoever people would feel about my actions. I know it's wrong and the good thing is that I've started working out on it. Lately, I've learned the say he magic word "NO" and it feels great. In life, there are times that you have to say "NO" to succeed. There are instances that saying the word "YES" can be dangerous and can bring you into trouble. Trust me.. I've experienced it countless times.

Well, I know I made huge mistakes today and it was really a learning experience for me. Well, it was funny that I just started to listen to a business audio book "Built to Last" Well, I've started building my own small biz and if I want to make it last.. I know I must stop the drama of being the nice guy to make it happen. The greatest learning for the day is... moderate the kindess to succeed. Say NO.

My past ten days

10 days ago- I officially opened my first small business-cellphone accessories and loading station store. Though I haven’t had enough sleep since a week before I started the business, all the sleepless nights of thinking, planning and strategizing are worth it. All the sacrifices are worth doing and the rewards are overwhelming. I feel like I have all the freedom in the world for I’m now my own boss. I’m now my own accountant, my own manager and even my own bundy clock and my own time card.

We’re only two in my store, me and our house helper that I turned into a saleslady overnight since the day I opened my store. In my store, there’s a wooden divider enclosing a very small private space that serves as my office. Inside, A cooler serves as my chair and the cabinet’s shelf serves as Ace’s (my laptop) space. I may have started small but I believe in stories of humble beginnings. Anyway, Great things start with small ones.. Right?

For the past ten days, I had a share of unforgettable experiences, some are frustrating but most of them are challenging. I made acquaintances out of customers and friends out of other store owners nearby. I’ve learned tons of priceless things for the past ten days. Priceless lessons that I’ll never ever forget as a starting entrepreneur.

Well, as what I said the rewards were beyond my expectation. I was actually overwhelmed and surprised for the first few days alone. In a week time, right after opening my store, I was able to add up more items that attracted more customers.

I’ve attracted all these wonderful things in my life and I’m ready to embrace greater things that await me. There’s no turning back. I'm very optimistic. I'm well equipped with courage and nobody can stop me in reaching my goals. This is just the making of wonderful attractions that are coming. As days go by, I get more excited and challenged. Dreams really do come true.

My dreams brought me to Quiapo

I bought products for my shop today on a wholesaler store somewhere in Quiapo, Manila. I have to admit that I feel uncomfortable going in such places like Divisoria or Quiapo where you'll at times feel you're unsafe. Today, that proved me wrong. Actually, I enjoyed strolling around the area and looking for bargain and cheaper products. I felt safe because everyone was kind and friendly. Plus the feeling that I was there for a life changing reason makes the experience more exciting. The athmosphere of the place is way far from my former workplace-school.

I used to be a college teacher in an International school for almost two years. I get used to hear the word "sir" and get used in wearing decent "corporate attire" everyday. While I was looking around Quiapo, I suddenly realized that I haven't heard of the word "sir" and worn long sleeves with tie for the past three months. Actually, I've been a BUM for 3 months! BUM with a purpose. I have a master plan and that's why I chose to resign and start working on my plan.. and that plan has brought me to the crowded, noisy, hot yet exciting place - Quiapo.

If you've been reading my blog entries since I started Digital Black Canvas, I'm certain that you know what I'm talking about. With the help and support of my parents (especially my mom) and some friends, I'm starting a small business. I'm making a move from the E quadrant to the S. I know I've given up my teaching career where I was honored and respected for something that I might not get the same treatment at first.

When I'm finally home from Quiapo, I felt the excitement and enthusiasm for the upcoming days. My life has changed a lot for the better. I'm now getting the results I want. This time I know I'll get farther that I can Imagine. I'm now making my dreams happen. This is just one small attraction in my life and bigger attractions are coming.

Quitting Cigar Smoking

I'm 25 and in few weeks I'll be 26. Ive been smoking cigarettes since I was 17. My kissable pink lips has turned into a horrible dark one. My gums even darken because of cigar. Evertime I hit the threadmill at the gym, I easily get exhausted. There are times I'm having a hard time breathing. I know there are tons of negative things that cigarettes do to my health.

I used to think that I'd be like loosing half of my life when I quit smoking. I know that thought was far way to the truth. I'll experience a life that is more beautiful without cigarettes. I am a strong person and I would not let myself depend on cigarettes anymore. There are lots of great things life has to offer and that could only happen if I have a healthy body.

This noon, I bought my last pack of Marlboro Lights. Once I'm done with this pack, I'll be quitting cigarette smoking. I am challenging myself. This is for real.

It's year 2008 and I'm certain that this year would be a wonderful one for me. I've finally gotten out of my comfort zone. I've chosen to leave my daytime job time as a college teacher. I know that I did well as a teacher for a year and a half. The experience was really wonderful especially the priceless lessons I've learned. Once, I've been asked by a former student why I resigned.. my answer was simple - "I quit to win." In life there are times that you have to quit to win; quit to pursue the the things you want in life... Quit to achieve your dreams.

Movie hoax on your e-mail

I have received a forwarded e-mail entitled IF WE WORK TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT!!!! Well, according to the letter there will be a porn movie about Christ and His disciples being gay. The protest mail is asking people who received it to sign in their names and forward it to others. Well, to verify the alleged porn movie, I first googled it.

I found out that this is just an e-rumor, a hoax e-mail. The thing is, this hoax mail has been around since 2001 and it's resurfacing again as year 2007 ends. Meaning, there's no such movie being shot. I just hope that people would not easily believe on whatever they read on their mails and forward it to others.

This is similar to a play that has been in the Theatre halls for a while. It's called Corpus Christi ' which means 'The Body of Christ'. It is a revolting joke of our Lord. MAC Filtering: a way to secure your wireless home network

For the past few weeks, a computer has been intruding our wireless home network. Since I'm using Pure Network's Network Magic software, all the while I thought that our home network is secured. Well, I should blame on on my negligence that I didn't notice that the software I was using has only limited features and unfortunately securing network is not one of them. Anyway, I find the software very useful especially to those who are just starting out their wireless home network. However, if you want your network to be secured (unless you but the full version of Network Magic) you need some extra knowledge on how to make it protected and secured with possible intruders within your range.

The immediate solution I did was MAC filtering.

Unlike IP addresses, MAC addresses are unique to specific network adapters, so by turning on MAC filtering you can limit network access to only your systems (or those you know about). In order to use MAC filtering you need to find (and enter into the router or AP) the 12-character MAC address of every system that will connect to the network, so it can be inconvenient to set up, especially if you have a lot of wireless clients or if your clients change a lot. MAC addresses can be "spoofed" (imitated) by a knowledgable person, so while it's not a guarantee of security, it does add another hurdle for potential intruders to jump.

Identifying a computer's MAC address (Physical Address) in Windows XP:

1. on yout task bar clik start > click Run

2. type cmd> click ok (the command prompt appears)

3. on the command prompt typeipconfig /all

Look for the MAC Adress (Physical Address) and take note of it. Do all the steps to all client computers in your network.

Well, if you have Network Magic installed in your PC, I guess the easiest way to get the MAC Address is to make use of it.

After identifying the MAC addresses of your network's client computers, you can now configure the MAC filtering feature of your wireless router (I'm using D-Link DIR-300).

Once you are done. Say hello to security and goodbye to your wireless home network intruders!

The full feauture of Pure Networks Network Magic software is available online. You can download it and buy online. However, one can still enjoy the freeware version of it with limited features. I highly recommend this software if you have a wired or wireless network at home.

Ace is back!

My optimism is being tested for the past few days. I'm trying to figure out why am I attracting negative situations. One of which is my ever beloved Ace the notebook. It's not charging anymore. The pin in its power connector is broken. I've been giving extra care to it yet this unfortunate event still happened.

It's December 3 and few weeks from now it'll be Christmas. I just recently left my day time job as a college teacher that I had for a year and a half. I feel grateful for all the experiences I had for I've learned priceless things from them. It's great that finally I am getting out of my comfort zone. I've eventually started doing things differently. I've taken baby steps that will eventually become big leaps in few months. I know that there's still lots of things to learn from life that I wish I learned in school. My world is my school and life is my teacher.

&nbspI woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I was very late at work! I can no longer sleep early. If work is an Amazing Race and the bundy clock is the pit stop, I'm certain that I'll be eliminated for I'm the last lecturer to arrive for the day. Thank all the gods in human existence because I was able turn a not so good moning into a great one.

While I was heading at work, as usual, I listened to what I call "songs for success" on my mp3 player. I have this one song on my player entitled "Born Free" that boosted my optimism on a higher level this morning. While listening to the song, I felt like I was the lead character in the movie "Pursuit of Happyness." I just felt different. It's like I'm experiencing my own Pursuit of happyness in life. While in the cab and while listening to the song, I was looking at the sky through the window in the front seat. The feeling was really good! I told myself that this is indeed my pursuit of happyness. I'm following my heart and give my all to make my visions turn into reality.

I really had a great day at work today. The energy, excitement and enthusiasm are coming back. I know that soon, things will change because I'm following my heart. There will be more energy, excitement and enthusiasm. I've already taken baby steps and now I'm ready to take a big leap on my pursuit of happyness.

Carwash Visit

It has been a long time since I haven't seen that friend of mine who really never wanted to be an employee. He now owns a carwash shop in Visayas avenue and everything seems going well for him.

I have to admit that I'm getting fed up having in having a 9 to 5 a job. I have to wake up early every morning and go home late every night. There's something that a day time job takes away from you, it's freedom. I know that someone has to experience being an employee to learn stuffs but it doesn't mean that one has to be an employee forever. I want to retire young and retire rich. I envision myself retiring at my 30's and not when I'm already in my 60's. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not be spent to work forever.

Now I understand why my friend chose to be his own boss. It's definitely better.

I felt wonderful today. I received my BioEnergy's first check which is 2,400php worth. I'm so grateful and happy that my work paid off (of course with the help of a good friend Rj). Though the amount is not that huge, still, it's like an assurance that I can make more. Well, aside from earning money, I also earn friends that help me in my pursuit of financial freedom. I feel so great that I get to know these people.

I'm looking forward for bigger amounts of checks on the coming weeks. I'm so excited. Pictures are coming alive.

I choose freedom and not security

I have to admit that I can no longer feel the excitement. If this is a canvass, I've already filled it up with all the possible color combinations I could think of. This will really be my last time. It's true that if you keep on doing what you've already done, you'll always get what you've already got. I'm always getting the same results. I want challenges and this is no longer challenging me in pursuit of making my visions as reality. Besides, I choose freedom and not security. Anyway, I feel great that I've learned priceless lessons from this experience.

I have many wonderful things to look forward to and these things excite me. Christmas would definitely be a merry one for me, for my family and friends. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful things, events and people I attract. I'm certain that I'll soon hit my target.

It's 9:07 PM and I can't make a true lie about the pain that my body is experiencing now. I know that I just need rest from my "pursuit of a healthy body" program.

I commented on the film "The Secret" in youtube and a new found friend sent me a message wanting to know how to use it

FRIEND:Well I want to know how to use the secret so i can make my dream come true.

ME: I see. Well, the secret is "The Law of Attraction." The law says that "Thoughts become things" so whatever you think all the time happens. The thing is, most people always look at negative side. Most people see a glass as half empty instead of half full. So be optimistic. Get it? Another thing is that, people always think of the things they do not want that's why these things materialize and become their reality. So if you dwell on loosing, you'll definitely end up loosing. You should think of the things you want in life so that you'd attract them. So if you think of winning, you'll definitely win.

Mind is the most powerful energy in the universe and you can create your destiny with your mind. If you want something, visualize that you already have it and you should have the feeling of having it already. What I do is I ignore all the negative thughts and focus on positive ones. I have what I call a vision notebook where I write all the things I want in present form as if I already have these things. I write them down every morning. Make sure that you'd specify the things you want. (How can you hit the target of you don't know what and where exactly it is? Right?) I suggest you start with small things. Once you do this as a habit, just always stay postive whatever happens. These will definitely bring you to circumstances that will lead you in making your dreams a reality. These circumstances may be in a form of an opportunity. So if opportunity comes.. ACT.

I really felt great yesterday for a couple of reasons and I'm looking forward for counteless wonderful things that are coming today.

I'm so excited for everything! Me going back to gym on saturday is one of which. I can't wait to hit the rotex and threadmill for hours, burning some calories and feeling great afterwards.

I made a right decision to spend money for assets and not liabilities.

I've asked for wonderful people,events and things. My wishes have been answered. I am now ready to receive.

Life's like an Internet Reversi

It has been a long time since I played the internet reversi game. Right after watching an R-18 film in my notebook I suddenly decided to play the game. My opponent was an English.

Game 1: My opponent did a good start and I felt like I'll end up loosing. I was not really thinking of strategic moves to win the game. I was relaxed with my back against the wall while listening to Gyskard's Pink Life. There was an excitement but I was't focused. I won the first game.

Game 2: I felt great for I won the first game. I immediately clicked the play again button hoping my oponent would do the same thing. And guess what? He/she did (although it took time for my opponent to decide).

Still I was so relaxed while playing the game. This time I had more excitement so I started to play the game seriously. Of course I wanted to win it for the second time. Again, it was a good start on my opponent's part. The first half of the game was dominated by the opponent but still I managed to occupy the corners of the board and end up winning.

Game 3: Right after my sweet victory from game 2, I thought of leaving my opponent. It took me amost a minute to decide if I will click the play again button or leave opponent. If I click leave the opponent, I'd be leaving with pride and honor for myself (although it's just an internet reversi game). However, I thought of challenging myself more and hoping that I'd win for on the third time. I clicked the play again button.

I don't know what happened during the start of the game. Probably I was too overconfident and underestimated my English opponent. It was in the middle of the game and the opponent was able to occupy the corners of the board. I started to feel the fear of loosing. I even tried visualing for seconds about me winning the game. My visualization wasn't that creative since it wasn't aided with the winning feeling but with the fear of loosing instead. When the game was about to finish, I knew I was going o loose... and I did.

My emotion suddendly shifted. I felt sad. I won the first two games but I lost on the third one. Yes it was jut a game but it made me realize that life's like an internet reversi game. Why? Just read this blog again and you will definitely find the answer.

By the way, after winning, my opponent chose to leave me for another game.

The Return

I once resigned at work and now I'm coming back. This time as a part-timer only. I'll be teaching every MWF and that would start on September 3 until November 23. I know that some friends and family members would react to my decision. I know what I'm doing and I have great plans for the remaining quarter of the year. I think this is the best opportunity I have as of the moment so i grabbed it. If I land another full-time job, it will definitely take away the precious thing I have-TIME. I'll do whatever it takes to start a small business. Anyway, I have no reason to start one since I have four free days in a week. I'd better ask dad to lend me a sufficient amount of money to start.

Doodads

I can't believe it! I just spent on doodads for the entire day. I quite feel guilty for I know that I should be spending money wisely especially now that I don't have any coming in my cashflow's income box. I forgot that I should stop spending a lot, especially in things that are unnecessary.

Well, another learning experience for me. I may have spent a lot on doodads today but the learning experience is priceless.

How have I experienced faith, service and communion in my life?

As defined by Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, Faith is something that is believed especially with strong conviction. Most of the times, people do not realize that they experience practice faith in their everyday living. A simple expectation or belief is a manifestation of faith. Later I’ll be hitting the sack and I know that tomorrow I’ll wake up. In that sense, I’ve already thought of something that I expect and believe to be true. If we want something, there comes faith. We believe one day we’ll have that something, however, most of the times people make use of faith negatively. Instead of believing in the positive outcomes, people believe more on the negative ones. Well, in my life, since I look the glass as half full and not half empty; I experience faith because I believe in the good things that life can offer. I expect that great and wonderful people, things and events are coming my way. The power of faith always works. I used to be a college lecturer for more than a year. Upon getting my degree from college, teaching was probably the last career option that I’d be taking. Since, all I’ve wanted then is to have a job whereas I’d learn many priceless things, I attracted a teaching career. Back then I know that my presentation skill was just all right. I wanted to perform well and deliver lectures exemplary. It all started with a decision to be better and that decision was aided by faith; Faith that I would be better and deliver each and every lecture excellently. I started believing in myself particularly in my skills. As I left teaching career I felt so fulfilled for I know that I did well. I was given an above average evaluation grade by my learners, it was such an honor to impart whatsoever knowledge I have. The fulfillment is priceless and everything started by merely having faith in oneself. Well, one you’ve gotten the feeling of fulfillment, certainly you have served others. A person can serve others buy simply doing little things. If a friend needs help, don’t hesitate to be a helping hand. Anyway, the little time you give may be the biggest gift that your friend may get. Although at times I may be hard to find but I make it a point that I’d lend my ears if a friend needs help. When I was still an educator, I served to my students. I’ve shared not only the technical things I know but all the great things I learned from the books I read and experiences I had. It’s such great feeling when you serve people around you. It’s such an experience that can never be bought by money. It’s priceless. It’s something that will be treasured in my heart forever. It’s something that one should really be proud of. It’s an achievement that may not have a certificate, trophy or medal as proof but will definitely leave a mark on people whom you have served. In that sense, I’ve made a communion with my learners. As defined, communion is an act or instance of sharing. So if you serve others, you’re making a communion with them. Serving and communion are correlated for if you serve you share. Now I understand why there are many kind hearted individuals who selflessly serve and share. I believe that the more you share the more you’ll going to get. That is why generous people get more. Well, that’s the reason why I make it sure I share whatsoever I have with others and it’s great that wonderful things are coming. Well, life can only be lived once that’s why I strongly believe that faith should be used positively and believe that wonderful things, events and people are just around. Celebrate life by serving and sharing whatever you have to others and for that you’re making a communion with people around you. You’ll feel fulfilment and definitely feel the happiness that you’ve been looking for.

I'd better go out and look for a good location. Anyways, big things start with small ones. Would you believe that McDonalds started with milkshake makers? I wonder why only one McDonalds in the Philippines sells milkshakes. Anyway, McDo's Pinoy counterpart Jollibee started with Magnolia ice cream. Interesting, isn't? Steve Job's Apple Computers started in a garage and so with Microsoft which started in Bill Gates' college dorm. If you have a pet from Bioresearch, don't you know that it started with just two fishes? Well, great things indeed start with small ones.

Minding My Own Biz

It feels good that finally I, my bro and mom had a good conversation about stuffs that I've been wanting to share them. I think that's far off better than them expecting me to land another job right after resigning from work. I know that sooner I might be joining the E-quadrant again but I'm very certain that I'd get out of the rat race soon. I feel great that at least I'm able to share whatsoever ideas I have for the future and good thing is that they responded positively. I'm really attracting positive events lately. It feels great!!

I'm cleaning up my notebook's "My Documents" folder and deleting some unnecessary files and suddenly I've discovered that I have a word document file named "blog". As I opened the file, I discovered that the file contains my unfinished and unpublished blog last July 28. I was probably too exhausted that night.. that's why I wasn't able to publish it right away. Anyway, here it goes...

Many things happened today, heart warming and heart breaking things.

Reschedule
I was so affected when a student suddenly cried for not having been able to review for their final exam. Anyway, she's one of my best students and it just happened that at her young age, she's experiencing problems that a young lady should not experience. I had to be considerate so I rescheduled her exam on monday.

Not so traditional
I don't know if I should feel sad seeing my PLF students having a hard time answering the exam I prepared. Anyway, I designed a not so traditional exam that has a question asking them on "how they can relate the subject in their lives."

5:00 PM
A friend
It breaks my heart when I see scholars who are really struggling life's hardships. It was yesterday when one of my students asked a favor for she needed a little amount of money for a project. I saw the hopelessness in her eyes and she didn't really want to ask any favor coming from a person like me. But she and her classmates had no choice. Like in an IF ELSEIF ELSE statement, it’s like I’m the ELSE, their last resort.

It was around 5:00 PM and it was raining cats and dogs. The student approached me and I haven't withdrawn yet. I just asked her to accompany me in withdrawing money. That's the time I had a chance to talk to her hoping that I could give some counseling.

That event made me feel really grateful of what I have. Anyway, the amount is just as worth as one cab ride from our home to school. I enjoy sharing what I have and I know great things are coming my way for that. I'm so lucky that these young people see me not just a teacher but also a friend who understands their struggles in life.

Unforgettable class
In my evening class, since it's our last day, we had a mini thanksgiving party. A student who works in a call center recently got promoted as a supervisor and everyone in the class is happy for him.

I will really never forget that class. It's the class where we've shared a lot of meaningful ideas about life.

Don't worry
My brother fetched me at work. I decided to bring home all my things so I emptied my table in the faculty room leaving only my gym tumbler and some exam manuscripts for monday and tuesday's exams. Despite of the denials that I'm not leaving, it seems that the students know it already. As my brother helped me to carry tons of blue books and papers, some students at the school's lobby seemed to be shocked that I'm already leaving this term. I just said "Don't worry guys, Just stay happy. If you’re not, be happy."

I feel grateful that I've changed for the better. Life indeed is a lecture that one has to learn and understand. I'm blessed with wonderful learning experiences and these experiences made me a better person. I know that I'll be experiencing more things. I erase the word "failure" in my vocabulary and replace it with "feedback." There's no such thing as failure, only feedback. If I experience not so overwhelming feedback, it means that I should do good the next time.

I attract positive people, events and things. I'm loving it. It's feels great when you've finally changed the way you look at things. Past is past. Present is the product of the past. The future is the makings of the present.
